ORDER OF SERVICE

Welcome and Passing of the Peace

WE INVITE GOD’S PRESENCE INTO OUR HEARTS

Centering Music “Sanctuary”

Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true; with thanksgiving, I’ll be a living sanctuary for You.

Prelude

*Call to Worship

Leader: Liberating God,

People: we know that what we don’t stand up against, we let happen.

Leader: We seek to be those who stand up.

People: We know the power of people who work together for good.

Leader: We seek to join hands with all your saints, from all times and in all places

All: and be those who work for good.

*Opening Prayer (Unison)

In the ancient stories, we have seen God at work in the lives and perilous circumstances faced by God’s people. The events that led to the exodus of the people of Israel from Egypt were brought about by common people, defiant midwives, a courageous mother, a vigilant sister, and a compassionate princess. God has stood by the people and delivered them from danger. We know God still does work for good; this is the nature of God and the purpose of Christ’s church. Amen.

*Hymn of Praise “God of Grace and God of Glory” #436 vs. 1, 2 & 5

WE OFFER GRATITUDE TO GOD

With praise and thanks, we create new life. With vigor and sweat, we deliver our love. With care and hope, we stretch out our hands. We give our gifts of tithes and offerings to renew the world again.
