August 2017 SUNDAY SCHOOL is offered during the school year for children and youth every Sunday during the worship service. Youth convene downstairs at 10:00 a.m. and then gather in the sanctuary for the youth sermon during the service. Classes then begin downstairs around 10:15 a.m. Webster uses the Shine, "Living in God's Light," curriculum. On the first Sunday of every month youth assist in the service, acting as greeter/usher, acolyte, and lector. Older youth stay for the entire service on the first Sunday of the month. Nursery care is available for children 0-5 years every Sunday. Note: Sunday school classes are not held during the summer. Nursery care is available. Various special activities may be planned; check the calendar in the Announcements bulletin.

August 2017 COMPASS, a spiritual journey group, meets on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. The group meets at various members' homes; contact the Deacon Chair for information and to confirm group is meeting that week.

August 2017 SPOTLIGHT ON FAITH meets every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Conference Room. This is a special time of sharing, prayer, and support. The group, led by Pastor Marcia, discusses the scripture reading for the upcoming Sunday. Readings for August: 8/2 Matthew 14:13-21; 8/9 Matthew 14:22-33; 8/16 Matthew 15:21-28; 8/23 Matthew 16:13-20; 8/30 Matthew 16:21-28.

August 2017 CHOIR  The Chancel and Chime Choirs are off for the summer. There is a pickup choir on the 2nd Sunday of the month (August 13). Anyone interested in singing is welcome to participate; there is a brief rehearsal at 9:30 a.m., just before the worship service begins.
